さてさて、昨年末に訃報のあった名パーカッショニスト、ラルフマクドナルド。
実はめっちゃええ曲を書くソングライターでもありました。

Ralph MacDonald 逝去

彼の代表曲はなんと言っても"Just The Two Of Us"。
そしてRoberta Flack & Donny Hathawayで知られる
"Where Is The Love"ですね。

その2曲のセルフカバーバージョンが聴けるのが
このアルバム"Just The Two Of Us"
なのです。

原曲のバージョンももちろんいいんですが、
セルフカバーのバージョンも少しほんわかした雰囲気があり、
こちらはこちらで大変素敵なアレンジですね。

このアルバムは"インスト"と"歌もの"が両方ありますが、
その"歌もの"のクオリティが非常に高くて、
「これ、全部"歌もの"にしたら良かったやん。」と、
ポロっと言っちゃいそうになります。
うそ。独り言でしっかりと言いました。
それくらいぼくはラルフマクドナルドの書く
"歌もの楽曲"が好きなんだと、自覚しました。

という、ダサい感想が出るほどええアルバムです。
インストも素敵なんです、もちろん。
ただ、歌楽曲がもっと素敵なんだわ。
"Where Is The Love"とか好きなら一度聴いてみてください。
